Inductive Voltage Transformer – Oil Type

245 kV

Our Inductive Voltage Transformers operate reliably across the 11 kV–245 kV range, engineered for accurate voltage referencing and long-term outdoor service.

Characteristics

  • Uniformly designed mutual-induction core delivers long-period short-circuit withstand capability and high thermal burden ratings.
  • Sub-1-Tesla flux-density design minimises localised hot-spots in the magnetic core for stable long-term operation.
  • Closed-design winding architecture shields the active part against impulse and switching-surge events.
  • Complies with IEC 61869-3 and IEEE C57.13.

Technical

  • Voltage class: up to 245 kV system.
  • Standard secondary output: 110 V / √3, 110 V, or 100 V — configurable per metering and protection scheme.
  • Dielectric dissipation factor (tan δ): less than 8% variation from 5 kV to Um/√3, with maximum DDF below 0.35%.
  • Insulating fluid: mineral oil (inhibited or uninhibited) or synthetic ester.
  • Housing options: RTV-coated, silicone, or porcelain (brown / gray glaze).

Product Applications

Inside the JVS
Inductive Voltage Transformer

Main components of the Potential Transformer

The reliability of JVS Potential Transformers is built on advanced engineering, proven materials and rigorous in-house testing — delivering accurate voltage referencing across a wide range of operating environments.

High-gradient paper bushing

Insulation

High-voltage fine-graded condenser paper bushing design provides uniform grading of high voltages along the active part.

Form-fit housing

Form-Fit Tank

Tanks fabricated with aluminium, stainless steel and mild steel coated in epoxy enamel paint for superior corrosion resistance and outdoor durability.

Expansion bellow

Expansion Bellow

For transformers rated 33 kV and above, stainless-steel bellows manage oil-volume fluctuations caused by temperature variations.

Secondary termination

Secondary Termination

Generously designed terminal box with rigid epoxy multi-bushing connections that prevent secondary oil leakages from the active part.
