SURGE ARRESTER · POLYMERIC ARRESTERS

Lightweight resilience.
Long-life protection.

Polymeric Arresters

765 kV

Our polymer-housed arresters divert surge currents safely to ground, safeguarding transformers, switchgear, and other critical assets from costly damage and downtime.

Characteristics

  • Engineered MOV stack geometry ensures uniform heat dissipation.
  • Wide-temperature sealing system (−40 °C to +60 °C).
  • Low-resistive-current MOV blocks cut continuous leakage and watts-loss.
  • Pressure-relief venting safely manages internal fault energy at end-of-life, eliminating shrapnel risk.
  • Complies to IEC 60099-4, IEEE C62.11.

Technical

  • Rated voltage (Ur): up to 765 kV system, configured per project specification.
  • Continuous operating voltage (Uc): selected to match system temporary overvoltage (TOV) profile.
  • Nominal discharge current (In): 20 kA, 8/20 µs — IEC station-class and IEEE heavy-duty distribution duty.
  • Short circuit currents up to 63 kA.
  • Available structures: Cage, Tube and Filament.

Product Applications

Inside the JVS
Polymeric Arrester

Main components of the Polymer Surge Arrester

JVS polymer-housed surge arresters combine high-grade MOV blocks, silicone-rubber housings and proven sealing techniques — delivering decades of overvoltage protection in any environment.

Silicone-Rubber Housing

Silicone-Rubber Housing

Hydrophobic silicone-rubber housing provides excellent pollution performance and long-term outdoor reliability across climates.

Uniform field distribution

Field Distribution

Uniform electric-field distribution across the active part — eliminates voltage hotspots and extends service life.

Pressure-Relief Design

Pressure-Relief Design

Engineered pressure-relief vent ensures a safe, controlled failure mode in the event of internal fault.

Mounting & Connections

Mounting & Connections

Rigid mounting flange and corrosion-resistant terminals support reliable installation in substations and on poles.
